This being my first post about photography, I am feeling a little nervous. I love taking photos. I love photography & everything about it. Problem is- I am like the Rachel Ray of photography. [Seriously, I just said that] I am kind of making it up as I go along, and just so happens I am fairly decent at it.
My subject-du-jour would have to be nature/scenery/outdoors. My favorite activity for the past year plus has been wandering around our woods and snapping photos of random things I come across. I am always taking my camera wherever my husband and I go- whether its 45 minutes south to our parents new property, out for a hike in Empire, or just a random Sunday drive, the camera is a necessity & makes it on every trip.
I have also been so lucky to do some of my great friends' engagement sessions. Which- is a whole other beast- but one that I enjoyed so much & definitely would LOVE to continue to do.
[This subject will obviously call for a whole separate blog, so hang tight.]
The engagement sessions had lead me to consider doing family portraits- epecially with the holidays coming up. I have one under my belt and was so lucky to shoot such a beautiful family. Felicia, Fred & Wilder were a fantastic way to start out. They were so laid back & fun!
I can't wait to post those photos for you to see.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. Here's one of my favorite photos from my trip to Nashville. Its an old bike outside of a country store in Lieper's Fork, TN!
Much Love

Welcome to LeMieux's Views!
Well hello there! Welcome to LeMieux's Views, thanks for stopping by. This blog is dedicated to the process of how my husband, David creates fabulous rustic furniture, as well as an outlet to showcase some of the photography that I am dabbling in & the stories that go along with the photos.
Our main goal in starting this little venture is to provide inexpensive, one-of-a-kind, quality products to accentuate any home.
In short, we supply home-made furniture & photography. From Michigan, by Michigan, for EVERYONE! With love.
I [personally] think that a touch of nature in any home is fantastic. Simple little accents such as a rustic piece of furniture [even if its the only piece] really brings the outside in! [without the dirt of course-just leave that to us to get rid of for you!]
The day that I began putting together a little 'social media' plan to make our items accessible to people interested & spread the word that we would be taking this head on- David decided it was time to strip the cedar branches that have been sitting in the garage since he got them out of our swamp in the backyard this past spring. The bark strips off relatively easy & looks great.
He also decided that it was time to reorganize his work shop and sort through all of the wood he had been collecting from fallen trees. A lot of the wood that he uses is from trees that have fallen in a storm, been knocked down in some way, or if land is being cleared for new construction. There is minimal cutting down of trees. He likes to recycle old wood that no one wants or is just lying around- which I like & I think others will like as well.
Case in point....we had a huge wind storm a couple of weeks ago all across Northern Michigan [were talkin' winds that were in excess of 60 mph] David spent his day off driving around town scouting out fallen trees & talking to people to see 'what they were going to do with the wood' and if he could cut it up and keep some of it. Needless to say his 'inventory' as he likes to call it has doubled. Hey, its a win-win, right? The people get the trees out of their yard...for free...and David now has a little more to work with, even if we go through a little more soap to get that pine pitch off his hands from stripping wood all day.
So, that's a little bit on how we get the great wood that is made into beautiful furniture.
Again, thank you for stopping by. I am working on getting an Etsy store up and running. Until then, visit our Facebook page and 'Like' us!
Much love,
